The Cercle Aérophilatélique Français, or French Aerophilately Association, was founded on 19 January 1957 to promote aerophilately and activities relating directly or indirectly to aerophilately, and to bring together people interested in this cultural pastime. In 1997, it counted some 160 members in France and worldwide.
 
 
The C.A.F. provides:
  • A forum for aerophilatelists and advice on how to set up
    aerophilately exhibitions, whether local, regional, national or international.
  • A forum allowing members to buy, sell and exchange philatelic items under the best possible conditions
  • Subscriptions to philatelic magazines and the purchase of books and catalogues at preferential prices.
  • An illustrated newsletter (in French), distributed three time a year. Sections include:
- philatelic news
- great French pilots
- curiosities
- readers' correspondence.
The last two sections are intended for readers wishing to publish, at no cost, the results of personal research or to address questions to leading specialists.

 

Note :
Aerophilately biographies published to date include those of Maryse Hilsz, Marcel Doret, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Paul Vachet, Ludovic Arrachart, Maurice Nogues, Jean Mermoz, Costes and Le Brix. Forthcoming issues will include those of Commandant Dagnaux, Goulette, Pelletier Doisy, Guillaumet.
